Pramoedya Ananta Toer
Pramoedya Ananta Toer is one of the prolific author in literary history Indonesia. He has written more than 50 works some of which have been translated into 41 languages. Pramoedya Ananta was born on February 6, 1925 in Blora, Central Java. 
His father was a school principal in Boedi Oetomo. Meanwhile, his mother was the daughter of a King in Rembang. He married in 1950 with a woman who often visit him while he was in prison.

He attended Boedi Oetomo Institute Foundation in Blora. Then he got into Radio Volkschool Surabaya (Surabaya Radio engineering school) for one and a half years. In 1942, he went to Jakarta and worked as a type in the Japan Domei news agency. In the years 1942 to 1943, he was educated at Park students and follow the course of shorthand. In 1945, he continued his studies at the high school of Islam Jakarta for courses of history, sociology, and philosophy. He also stopped working and explore the island of Java.
He is joined by members of The 6th Regiment in 1946 within the people's security Army and attained the rank of second lieutenant stationed in Cikampek. In 1947, he returned to the Cikampek toll road. Not long after, he was arrested by Marines from Netherlands on 22 July 1947 due to store documents whose contents against Netherlands. He was arrested on the island of Edam and in Bukit Duri until 1949.
Once out of prison, he worked as an editor at the Balai Pustaka. In 1952, he founded the Literary and Fitures Agency Ambassadors. In 1953, He was invited in Sticusa at Belnda. Later in the year 1958 he also traveled to Peking in China to attend the commemoration of the death of Lu Sun.
He had started composing since years with close-set piercing and has produced many literary works include novels, short stories, essays, and works of terjeman. The works – such as Pramoedya's novels, the former Kranji, ten heads of Nica, Guerrilla Family, not a night market, corruption, Earth, Human Footsteps, Beach girls, etc.
