In order to reduce the deficit in the trade balance in the food and beverage sector, Indonesia is conducting a trade mission to North America including the US and Canada involving 11 companies on April 30th until May 7th, 2013.
Gusmardi Bustami, Director General of National Export Development Ministry of Commerce revealed that the activities of the trade mission carried out is in order to help develop food and beverage companies in Indonesia so that it can enter into the networking potential business partners as importers, brokers, and wholesalers in the USA for cooperation sustainable.
"In Canada and the United States, the food and beverage sector has excellent potential for the region is a blend of the largest immigrant, including immigrants from Asia. Even in the next 10 years, an estimated number of immigrants who come to the region will account for one third of the indigenous population, "said Gusmardi through a written statement on Wednesday (1/5).
Pradnyawati, Director of Trade Promotion Development & Imagery also said that the election of the Canadian market is the right choice as a first step to enter the broader market, including the United States. Even the United States itself is also still one of the main export destination of food and beverage products from Indonesia. In a series of activities misis food and beverage sales in Canada and the United States, the Ministry of Trade will organize a seminar that will invite food and beverage businesses that have formed a partnership to partnership. In addition, companies from Indonesia are also given the facility to attend the exhibition of food and beverages. The exhibition has been held in Toronto on 30 April to 2 May.
Keep in mind that food and beverage products from Indonesia is one of the leading products that contribute to ground water in the export of non-oil products. In 2012, the export value of these products reached US $ 4.49 billion with the trend of the past five years amounted to 15.59 percent.
